Summary
Everyone in my family has killed someone. Some of us, the high achievers, have killed more than once.
I’m not trying to be dramatic, but it is the truth. Some of us are good, others are bad, and some just unfortunate.
Have I killed someone? Yes, I have. Who was it? Let’s get started.

Why I chose to read this book
Basing myself off the title alone, this sounds like an exciting murder mystery. I love these kinds of enigmas as it engages the readers into becoming detectives themselves.
Thoughts & Opinions
Follow Ernest, who wears his first name well, trying to get away from the reputation his last name carries. He is summoned to a family reunion, where tensions run high and an unfortunate event takes place. As the title declares, everyone in his family has killed someone. You’ll find out the how and the why throughout this book, narrated by Ernest himself, in his cheeky and humorous flair.
As far as dysfunctional families go, the Cunninghams are up there. We are introduced to each member along the way. A family tree might have been helpful because there are a lot of characters to keep up with.
Stevenson certainly has an interesting writing style, one I don’t think I’ve seen before, which made it quite curious. I believe the style is not for everyone, as the narrator speaks directly to the reader, frequently spoiling the story and impertinently misleading us. Despite this, Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone was an easy and fast read, a true page-turner!
